It all started in 2004 at Quezon National High School. We were classmates and had what you might call “puppy love.” We were young, had a little crush on each other, and were actively texting. We had those occasional "kilig moments," even borrowing our family’s phones just to text each other until dawn. After high school, we went our separate ways—Bryan in Lucban, Janine in Lucena—but we kept in touch. Kahit busy sa pag-aaral, we would still chat or text paminsan-minsan!

Over the years, our communication remained constant. Whenever time permitted, we would meet for coffee or drinks, the conversation flowing effortlessly as we shared stories of work, personal pursuits, and life's many intricacies. It seems we’ve always had a relationship that was personal and deep, pero never naging romantic! Perhaps it was a matter of timing, a dance of circumstances.

Fast forward to 2017, after all those years of friendship, something clicked. We realized that maybe, just maybe, there could be more here. We started going out, and the usual coffee meetups turned into coffee dates. Group hiking trips evolved into more exclusive, intimate excursions. And by February 11, 2018, we made it official in La Union—because why not make it official by the beach, right?

At first, we thought we were already mature adults (LOL), but the first two years proved otherwise! We discovered that being a couple isn’t always about fancy dates and sweet texts—madaming tampuhan, but we grew stronger through it. Then the pandemic hit, and we realized what truly mattered. Together, we navigated life’s ups and downs and started making real, meaningful plans for our future.

The big moment came on November 24, 2022, just before Janine’s birthday. Bryan proposed at Twin Lakes. Instead of the usual ring, he gave Janine a gold watch—unique, right? Here’s the thing: Janine loves jewelry, but she didn’t really have a proper, good-quality watch. Bryan knew this and decided that a beautiful gold watch was the perfect way to show his love—something she’d really treasure and use.
